This contemporary piece is a cool-toned grey clock that sits within a JT8 C10 Stator from an Mc Donnell Douglas MD80 Aircraft. The face of this clock is a light grey acrylic with a 16-inch diameter which perfectly contrasts with the matte jet black compressor stator measuring out to a total of 24 inches.
AIRPLANE USE:
The stator consists of a row of blades in a circle formation and is found in JT8 D -200 series engines. These engines are used on DC9 and MD80 series aircraft. The stators help convert high-velocity air into high pressure inside the compressor fan, a section of the engine.
