This contemporary piece is a wooden clock that sits within a C10 Stator from an Mc Donnell Douglas MD80 Aircraft. The face of this clock is a slab of polished Cuban mahogany with deep crevices filled with epoxy. The 16-inch diameter face perfectly contrasts with the matte jet black compressor stator measuring out to a total of 24 inches
AIRPLANE USE:
The stator itself consists of a row of blades in a circle formation and is found in the JT8 D-200 series engine. The engines are used on DC9 and MD80 series aircraft. The stators help convert high-velocity air into high pressure inside the compressor fan, a section of the engine.
