This contemporary piece is a wooden clock which sits within a C10 Stator from a Mc Donnell Douglas MD80 Aircraft. The face of this clock is a slab of polished cuban mahogany with deep crevices filled in epoxy. The 16 inch diameter face perfectly contrasts with the matte jet black compressor stator measuring out to a total of 24 inches.
AIRPLANE USE:
The stator itself consists of a row of blades in a circle formation and is found in JT8 D- 200 series engines . These engines are used on DC9 and MD80 series aircrafts. The stators help convert high-velocity air into high pressure inside the compressor fan, a section of the engine.
